The GT China Cup plans to complete four sub-stations in the 2025 season. Each race weekend will include two rounds of 1-hour races, and the event will visit top venues across the country.

According to the preliminary plan of the existing event, the GT China Cup will be officially unveiled at the Shanghai International Circuit from April 25 to 27. The second sub-station competition will be held on May 16-18. After that, the event will go north to the Tianjin V1 International Circuit from June 20 to 22. Finally, the season will end at Zhuhai International Circuit or Shanghai International Circuit from September 19th to 21st.

Event History

GT China Cup is a continuation of the previously successful professional GT competitions - GT Sprint Series (GTSSC) and GTSC. GTSSC, which was first established in 2021, is tailor-made for non-professional drivers. With accurate driver ratings and rich group settings, the event has quickly grown into one of the largest and highest-level GT events in the country since its establishment, and is widely favored by GT teams, racing experts and star drivers.

Changes in the competition system, more time, higher tolerance

In the 2024 season, GTSSC completed the transformation and returned to the competition under the name of GTSC. GTSC inherited the consistent professional competition level and hot atmosphere of GTSSC, and presented it with a new competition system, committed to creating a more inclusive and exciting GT competition platform. GTSC bid farewell to the "only for non-professional drivers, single-car short-distance sprint" competition mode adopted by GTSSC in the past, and began to accept drivers of all levels, using all GT cars that meet the technical rules, using single or double competition mode, and through precise group segmentation, it promotes a more diversified and balanced competition scene on the same stage.

In the 2025 season, the event will become a national GT event certified by the China Automobile and Motorcycle Sports Federation and will be renamed and upgraded to the GT China Cup. The GT China Cup will continue the 2024 event model and welcome domestic and foreign drivers to participate.

The event maintains a rich group setting, and all GT cars that meet the technical rules of each group can participate. Participants will continue to have a high degree of freedom to participate. Drivers of all levels, from national B to international PRO drivers, can participate. They can choose to challenge the competition alone or form a two-person team to compete. New drivers will be able to gain experience, make breakthroughs and improve themselves in the training of the GT China Cup; through the experience of this national-level event, they can also complete the upgrade of the racing license level. PRO drivers can also show their strengths in the GT China Cup competition.

In terms of the schedule, the GT China Cup will also be highly consistent with the GTSC. Each race weekend will arrange paid practice, free practice, two qualifying sessions and two rounds of 60-minute finals to ensure that participating drivers gain more race time and mileage.
