Felipe Ortiz

Felipe Ortiz is a Brazilian racing driver with experience in both single-seaters and GT cars. Born on August 19, 1998, Ortiz began his racing career in karting at a young age, demonstrating a natural talent for motorsport. He progressed through the ranks, entering the Brazilian Formula 4 Sudamericana series in 2014, where he finished second overall with two victories. The following year, he moved to Brazilian Formula 3, competing in the F3 Light category, though his season was hampered by mechanical issues.

In 2016, Ortiz made his American debut in the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda, joining Afterburner Autosport. The team expressed high hopes for him, drawing comparisons to their previous successful Brazilian driver, Victor Franzoni. Ortiz aimed to gain experience in the Mazda Road to Indy program, with aspirations of reaching the Verizon IndyCar Series. By 2017, Ortiz transitioned to GT racing, joining Vincenzo Sospiri Racing (VSR) to compete in the Italian Super GT Championship. Driving a Lamborghini Huracan, he partnered with Riccardo Cazzaniga. It was Ortiz's first experience racing GT cars in Europe, and he expressed enthusiasm for being part of a top-tier team.
