Racing Driver Simon Gachet Overview
Simon Gachet, born on October 14, 1993, is a French racing driver making his mark in the world of GT racing. Gachet's journey into motorsport began unconventionally, as he wasn't heavily involved in motorsports in his youth. Introduced to the sport through car magazines and the Formula Motorsport school, he quickly transitioned from car magazines to single-seater racing. In 2011, he directly entered the V de V Challenge Monoplace, bypassing karting altogether. He demonstrated his talent early on, securing the championship title in his debut season with two wins and 11 podiums. That same year, he won the Euroformula Volant test, earning a bursary to compete in the French F4 Championship in 2012, where he achieved six podiums and finished third overall.
Gachet's career progressed through various series, including Formula Renault 2.0 Alps and the Blancpain GT Series. Throughout his career, he has achieved significant success, including winning the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup Silver Cup in 2020 and securing third place in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Sprint Cup in 2022. That same year, he also earned a gold medal in the FIA Motorsport Games GT Cup, representing Team France.
Currently, Simon Gachet competes in the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup for Tresor by Car Collection and the Fanatec GT Endurance Cup for Haas RT. In 2023, Gachet was promoted to Audi Sport factory driver status, further solidifying his position as a respected competitor in the GT racing scene. His career statistics include 149 starts, 3 wins, and 32 podiums, showcasing his consistent performance and dedication to the sport.
