Richard Westbrook

Richard Westbrook, born on July 10, 1975, is a highly accomplished British professional racing driver with a career spanning several decades. He is particularly noted for his success in racing Porsche and international sports cars. Westbrook's journey in motorsport began in karting in 1986, progressing through various series, including Formula Vauxhall and Formula Opel Lotus Euroseries, before making his mark in Porsche racing. He secured victories in both the Porsche Supercup international championship in 2006 and 2007 and the Porsche Carrera Cup in Britain in 2004.

Westbrook's career highlights include winning the FIA GT2 Championship in 2009. He became a factory driver for Corvette Racing in 2011, achieving a notable victory at the 12 Hours of Sebring in 2013. From 2016, he joined Chip Ganassi Racing, driving the Ford GT in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. He has also achieved four third-place finishes at the 24 Hours of Le Mans (2010, 2016, 2020, 2022).

In addition to his on-track achievements, Westbrook's career is marked by resilience, including a comeback after a six-year absence from racing. He has driven for iconic brands such as Porsche, Chevrolet, and Ford, demonstrating versatility across GT and prototype racing. As of late 2024, Westbrook transitioned into a new career, establishing his own brewery in the UK, named Westbrooks Brewery, after retiring from full-time racing.
