Racing Driver Peter Dempsey

Peter Samuel Dempsey, born on March 31, 1986, is an accomplished Irish racing driver hailing from Ashbourne, County Meath. His career began in karting at age 8, before transitioning to competitive racing in the Formula Ford Series in Ireland and the UK in 2004, driving for his father's team, Cliff Dempsey Racing. Dempsey quickly made a name for himself, winning 33 out of 43 races in the Formula Ford Series in 2005 and earning the Motorsport Ireland Young Racing Driver of the Year Award. He continued his success with multiple wins and awards, including a third-place finish in the 2006 Formula Ford championship and consecutive Walter Hayes Trophy victories in 2006 and 2007.

In 2008, Dempsey moved to the United States, competing in the Star Mazda Championship. He secured four wins and finished third overall in his debut season. He continued in Star Mazda in 2009, finishing second after a DNF in the final race, he also participated in one American Le Mans Series race. From 2011 to 2013, Dempsey raced in the Firestone Indy Lights Series. In 2013, he achieved a historic win at the Freedom 100, finishing four-wide in what remains the closest finish in Indianapolis Motor Speedway history (0.0026 seconds).

Dempsey's career has been marked by determination and success in various racing series. With 24 career wins and 52 podium finishes out of 117 starts, he has proven his talent and dedication to the sport.
