James Clay

James Clay is a highly accomplished American racing driver and the owner of BimmerWorld, a leading BMW performance and racing parts company founded in 1997. Clay's passion for BMWs ignited after acquiring an E30 M3, which he promptly modified for track use. He began his racing career in BMW Club Racing in 1998, progressing through SCCA Regional ITS wins and SPEED Touring Car races before achieving his first professional victory at Road America in 2008. His early experiences racing and a need to fund his passion led to the birth of BimmerWorld.

Clay's professional career expanded into endurance racing in 2010, leading to the development of several new BMW platforms. More recently, from 2021 to 2023, James focused on GT4 racing in the SRO, securing the SRO championship in 2022 and the BMW Sport Trophy alongside co-driver Charlie Postins. They achieved considerable success with the new G82 M4 GT4 platform, racking up seven wins and a second SRO GT4 championship. In 2020, competing in both the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge and SRO TC America, he clinched the Driver's Championship in his M240iR. Beyond racing, James is a Virginia native who enjoys jet skiing and grilling and has a degree in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from Virginia Tech. He also participates in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, notching his fifth year in 2023.

BimmerWorld Racing continues to be a prominent force in various racing series, including IMSA and SRO, with James Clay actively involved both as a team owner and driver. The team is known for its BMW expertise and has supported numerous drivers and racing programs over the years.
