About Bradley Smith
Bradley Smith, born on February 21, 1991, is a versatile racing driver hailing from Essex, United Kingdom. A former British Racing Drivers' Club (BRDC) Rising Star, Smith has demonstrated his talent across various racing disciplines, from karting to sports cars and MotoGP. Smith's career began in karting at the young age of eight, where he quickly achieved success at club, national, and European levels. He transitioned to sports cars in 2011, showcasing his skills in a Radical SR3, winning the Clubman Cup Championship in 2012 and the Radical SR3 Challenge in 2013. 2014 saw him make his European debut in a V8, finishing second at the Nürburgring and winning at Brands Hatch, ultimately securing the European Championship in his first attempt.
Smith's career also extends to the world of motorcycle racing. He debuted in the 125 World Championship in 2006 and later moved to Moto2 in 2011, achieving podium finishes in his first season. In 2013, he stepped up to MotoGP with Monster Yamaha Tech 3, securing his first podium in Phillip Island in 2014 and another in Misano in 2015, also finishing as the top Independent Team rider. After a challenging 2016 and a move to Red Bull KTM Factory Racing in 2017, Smith continued to be a consistent point-scorer. In 2019, he became a test rider for Aprilia Racing Team Gresini in MotoGP while also competing in MotoE, where he narrowly missed the title, finishing as runner-up. More recently, in 2024, Smith entered the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship.
