Racing Driver Hoang Dat SAWER

Hoang Dat SAWER, also known as Alex Sawer, is a 16-year-old Vietnamese racing driver making waves in the international motorsport scene. Born in Ho Chi Minh City in 2008 to a British father and a Vietnamese mother, Hoang Dat began his racing journey in go-karts, showcasing his talent both domestically and internationally. He proudly represents Vietnam in competitions.

In 2023, Hoang Dat made a significant leap into Formula 4, impressing in the F4 Indian Championship where he secured a race win and several podium finishes, ultimately finishing fifth overall. His performance caught the eye of Joshua Evans, leading to his signing with the Finnish team KIC Evans GP. Hoang Dat's rapid progress continued in the F4 Chinese Championship with BlackJack Racing, where he achieved first and second-place finishes in Shanghai in April 2024.

Most recently, Hoang Dat has stepped up to Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA) in 2024, marking a major milestone as one of the few Southeast Asian drivers in this prestigious European series. Coached by former F3 racer Mitch Gilbert, Hoang Dat is poised to further develop his skills and compete against top young talents, with aspirations of advancing to Formula 2 and Formula 1. He is the first Vietnamese racer to race at Formula Three.
