Over Hoang Dat SAWER
Hoang Dat SAWER, ook bekend als Alex Sawer, is een 16-jarige Vietnamese autocoureur die furore maakt in de internationale motorsportscene. Geboren in Ho Chi Minhstad in 2008 uit een Britse vader en een Vietnamese moeder, begon Hoang Dat zijn racecarrière in karting, waarbij hij zijn talent zowel nationaal als internationaal toonde. Hij vertegenwoordigt Vietnam met trots in wedstrijden.
In 2023 maakte Hoang Dat een significante sprong naar de Formule 4, waarbij hij indruk maakte in het F4 Indian Championship, waar hij een race won en verschillende podiumplaatsen behaalde, en uiteindelijk als vijfde eindigde in het algemeen klassement. Zijn prestaties trokken de aandacht van Joshua Evans, wat leidde tot zijn contract bij het Finse team KIC Evans GP. Hoang Dat's snelle progressie zette zich voort in het F4 Chinese Championship met BlackJack Racing, waar hij in april 2024 in Shanghai eerste en tweede plaatsen behaalde.
Meest recentelijk is Hoang Dat in 2024 overgestapt naar het Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA), wat een belangrijke mijlpaal markeert als een van de weinige Zuidoost-Aziatische coureurs in deze prestigieuze Europese serie. Gecoacht door voormalig F3-coureur Mitch Gilbert, is Hoang Dat klaar om zijn vaardigheden verder te ontwikkelen en te concurreren met toptalenten, met ambities om door te stromen naar de Formule 2 en Formule 1.
