REC - Russian Endurance Challenge

The Russian Endurance Challenge(REC) is Russia's premier series of long-distance car races, modeled after international endurance racing formats. First held on October 24, 2015, at the MoscowRaceway, the series features multi-hour marathon races, typically lasting four hours, held at modern Russian circuits. The regulations are designed to be inclusive, allowing a diverse range of cars to compete, from internationalGT3 machinery and sports prototypes to vehicles from various Russian national championships. This createsa dynamic field where both professional and amateur drivers can participate, including some of Russia's most internationally recognized racers. The series has attracted notable names from the world of motorsport, including former Formula 1 drivers Vitaly Petrov, Daniil Kvyat, and Sergey Sirotkin, as well as renowned circuit architect Hermann Tilke. Events involve mandatory pit stops for refueling, tire changes, and driver swaps, with teams consistingof two to four drivers per car. The championship is organized by the ASPAS Sports Club and is conducted under the regulations of the Russian Automobile Federation, with points awarded in both an overall classification and individualcar classes to determine season champions.
