GR86 Cup Malaysia Series Overview

TheGR86 Cup Malaysia Series is a new one-make racing championship set to debut in Malaysia in 2025. Organized by Haro Sports and Entertainment Sdn Bhd, the series isdesigned to be a competitive yet cost-effective platform for motorsport enthusiasts. Allcompetitors pilot identical race-prepared Toyota GR86 sports coupes, ensuring a level playing field where driver skill is the primary determinantof success. The race cars are imported directly from Japan and feature a2.4-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder “boxer” engine producing 228 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed manual transmission. Safety is paramount, with each car equipped with a JAF-compliant roll cage, FIA-approved racing seats, a six-point safetyharness, and a fire suppression system. The inaugural season will beheld exclusively at the Sepang International Circuit and will consist of three rounds, kicking off as a support race for the2025 SUPER GT Series' Malaysian round. The series aims to fostera vibrant community for car culture and motorsport lovers, emphasizing pure driving talent.
