Xie An, a driver with extensive experience in both domestic and international GT racing, participated in this series last season in Zhuhai and returns to the track this time. Rookie driver Li Ning will be making his racing debut, having diligently prepared through practice to build a solid foundation for the official race.

Steady Performance in the First Round, Xie An Wins Second Place in His Group
The first round of the finals took place under low-temperature conditions. Xie An maintained second place in his group after the start and continued to improve his overall ranking, ultimately securing second place in the Excellence Group (AT Group). Li Ning, competing for the first time, performed steadily, finishing fifth in his group in his debut race.

After the race, Xie An said, "This was my first time competing in Chengdu, and I'm very happy to have experienced this track through this race. Competing with a friend from Beijing, a newcomer to racing, really showcases the charm of this series—allowing experienced drivers to compete alongside newcomers. The race went quite smoothly; I started three positions higher and then finished with the leading driver in my class. This car is significantly different from GT cars, and I need more time to adapt to driving this entry-level rear-wheel-drive car. Overall, it was a pleasant and rewarding racing experience."

Second Round Rain Chase: Another Runner-up Position Shows Strength
Before the second round of the final, Chengdu experienced rain and a drop in temperature. The low temperature and slippery track placed higher demands on the drivers' skills. According to the draw results and starting rules, the top ten drivers from the first round started in reverse order in the second round. Li Ning had the opportunity to start from pole position, which was a considerable challenge for the rookie driver.

Xie An, who started seventh overall, encountered a car malfunction at the start, causing his position to slip. However, he quickly adjusted his pace and launched a chase, returning to second place in his class after a fierce competition, ultimately securing second place again.

After the race, Xie An summarized: "The second round was more challenging due to the changing weather, but it also brought more driving enjoyment to the drivers. Although I encountered some problems at the start and failed to achieve my ideal position, I successfully caught up through subsequent efforts and ultimately finished the race smoothly. It's a slight regret that I couldn't compete more with the leading group. I look forward to continuing to learn from the best drivers in future races, and I also thank the team for their hard work."
Li Ning started steadily, and despite some fluctuations in his ranking, he successfully caught up with his opponents in the second half of the race, engaging in a fierce battle for third place in his class. Several exciting head-to-head cornering maneuvers and close-quarters combat were showcased. Li Ning battled his rivals to the finish line, ultimately finishing fourth in his class, just one step away from the podium, demonstrating excellent offensive and defensive capabilities.

Lifeng Racing completed their Chengdu journey with an outstanding performance. Next, the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing China GR86 Cup 2025 will conclude the season at the Tianjin V1 International Circuit. We look forward to both drivers achieving further success!
