Before the start of the 2024 season, Yang Cheng had accumulated competition experience in another single-brand race in China, and left a highlight moment on the highest podium. What makes countless car fans envious is that Yang Cheng was still a college student when he started his racing career. He has loved cars since he was a child, and he realized his dream of racing with the support of his family.

In the 2024 season, Yang Cheng opened up a new front and joined the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing China GR86 Cup family from the official test in Qinhuangdao, growing up with the event. Compared with the front-wheel drive racing cars he had previously encountered, the rear-wheel drive racing cars in the event tested driving skills more, and Yang Cheng also made progress in the competition. "There are many masters in this event. I learned a lot from competing with seniors on the field. This car is very easy to drive and the chassis is very balanced. I am very happy that there will be this competition in 2024, so that newcomers can get in touch with racing through an excellent platform."

Moving forward with honors, reaching the top of the year

Yang Cheng showed the momentum and strength of a new generation of drivers in the 2024 season. In the opening match in Ordos, Yang Cheng won both championships in the group and got off to a good start for the season; in the Pingtan street duel, Yang Cheng performed bravely in the high temperature and won in two rounds of fierce battles. He also challenged the elite group (MT) drivers on the field, extending his winning streak to four consecutive wins, and welcomed the year-end duel with the first place in the group standings.

In the final match of the double-match week in Zhuhai, Yang Cheng had a fierce battle with his opponents in the same group and won multiple rounds, consolidating his position as the leader in the standings.

With his outstanding performance throughout the year, Yang Cheng was crowned the annual champion of the Excellence Group (AT).
