Rene Binder

René Binder, born on January 1, 1992, is an Austrian racing driver with a rich motorsport heritage, being the nephew of former Formula One driver Hans Binder and the son of racer Franz Binder. René's career began in karting in 2002, where he achieved notable success, finishing third in the German Junior Kart Championship in 2007 and runner-up in the German Challenger Kart Championship in 2008. Transitioning to formula racing in 2009, he competed in ADAC Formel Masters, securing three podiums and finishing seventh overall. He progressed through various series, including German Formula 3, Formula 2, and GP2, before finding success in the Formula V8 3.5 Series, where he won four races in 2017.

In 2018, Binder ventured into IndyCar, becoming the first Austrian to participate in six IndyCar races. Since 2019, he has focused on endurance racing, competing in the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) and other endurance events. He won the Asian Le Mans Series in 2021 and finished as runner-up in the LMP2 Pro Am class of the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2022, demonstrating his adaptability and skill in endurance racing.

Most recently, in 2024, Binder has been actively participating in the European Le Mans Series, achieving multiple podium finishes in the LMP2 Pro Am class, including races at Mugello and Spa-Francorchamps. He also competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LMP2 class. Throughout his career, Binder has showcased his talent for strategy and tire management, achieving success in both single-seater and endurance racing, and continues to pursue his goal of winning major endurance classics.
