Samuel Schultz

Samuel "Sam" Schultz, born on December 11, 1985, in Missoula, Montana, is an accomplished American cross-country mountain biker, celebrated for his national championship title and representation of the United States at the 2012 London Olympics, where he finished 15th. Schultz's journey into mountain biking began at the age of 11, inspired by his uncle and quickly developed into a passion. By 13, he was already competing, marking the start of a career defined by determination and success on the trails.

Schultz's career highlights include a U.S. National Championship and a 10th-place finish at the 2012 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Windham. He was also selected for the U.S. national team for the world championships. Following the 2012 Olympics, back issues led him to transition away from full-time cross-country racing. This shift allowed him to explore "soul riding," focusing on adventure, camaraderie, and the enjoyment of the sport. He still participates in races, focusing on those that align with his enjoyment of riding.

Beyond racing, Schultz is dedicated to giving back to his community. He is the league director and co-founder of the Montana NICA league, where he focuses on fostering the next generation of mountain bikers in his home state. He also enjoys paragliding and speed flying. He graduated from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs with a degree in Geography and Environmental Studies.
