Nathan Byrd

Nathan Byrd, born on January 6, 2000, is an American professional stock car racing driver making waves in the NASCAR scene. Hailing from Litchfield Park, Arizona, Byrd's journey in motorsports began in 2018, leading to a diverse and busy racing career. In 2025, he is competing part-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, driving the No. 02 Chevrolet Silverado RST for Young's Motorsports, participating in 15 of the 25 races.

Before joining the NASCAR ranks, Byrd gained experience across numerous racing disciplines. In 2021 alone, he participated in 15 different racing series, including USAC Silver Crown Series and the Carolina Pro Late Model Series. His versatility is evident from his participation in series like the Atlantic Championship Series, F2000 Championship Series, and the Trans-Am Series, where he secured a win in the XGT class at Lime Rock Park. Byrd made his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut on May 22, 2024, at Portland International Raceway, driving the No. 92 Chevrolet for DGM Racing.

The Byrd family has deep roots in racing, dating back four generations. His great-grandmother owned stock cars in the late 1960s and early 1970s, a rare feat for women at that time. His grandfather and uncle continued the tradition, with the family having 22 entries in the Indianapolis 500. Byrd aims to be the 23rd family entry in the Indy 500, with NASCAR being a crucial step in gaining the high-speed oval experience necessary to compete at that level.
