Martin Plowman, born on October 3, 1987, is a British professional racing driver with a diverse and successful career spanning various motorsport disciplines. From Tamworth, England, Plowman began karting at the age of eight, quickly demonstrating his talent and achieving early success, including winning the 2003 French International Open Championship. This led to a spot in Toyota's young driver program and a move into single-seaters.
Plowman's career then took him stateside where he competed in Indy Lights, earning his first victory at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. He further showcased his abilities in the IndyCar Series before transitioning to sports car racing. This shift proved fruitful as he secured a runner-up position in the American Le Mans Series in 2012. A highlight of his career came in 2013 when he joined OAK Racing in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). That year, he triumphed in the LMP2 class at the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans and clinched the FIA WEC World Championship in the LMP2 class.
More recently, Plowman has been active in the British GT Championship, co-founding Paddock Motorsport with Kelvin Fletcher. The duo won the GT4 Pro-Am title in 2019, demonstrating his adaptability and continued competitiveness.
