Antonio Defelice is an Australian racing driver with a passion for GT racing. While official records may show limited podium finishes, his involvement in motorsports extends beyond personal accolades. Defelice is the owner of Vicious Rumour Racing, a team known for campaigning Ferraris in Australian GT events.
Defelice's journey into circuit racing began in 2011 after more than 15 years in Top Doorslammer drag racing. He quickly embraced GT racing, purchasing a Ferrari 458 GT3 and receiving guidance from Ferrari test driver Andrea Montermini. This partnership proved fruitful, with Montermini joining Defelice's team on numerous occasions. In 2016, Vicious Rumour Racing took delivery of the first Ferrari 488 GT3 in Australia, a significant step up from the 458. While Defelice initially focused on managing the team, he also took to the track, securing a win and a third-place finish at the Bathurst ProdSports championship race in 2016 alongside Benny Simonsen.
Beyond racing, Defelice is a successful businessman, the founder of Defelice Homes, a major home builder based in Melbourne. He also has a well-known Ferrari collection including a LaFerrari and a Monza SP2. He balances his business commitments with his passion for racing, transporting his team and equipment in a custom Scania R 730 truck.
