Taiyo Ida (Kundai Iida)

Taiyo Ida, also known as Kundai Iida, is a Japanese racing driver born on November 16, 1972. He has been active in motorsports for many years, with experience in various racing series. In 2002, Akira Iida won the All Japan Grand Touring Car Championship GT500 class with Esso Toyota Team LeMans, driving with Juichi Wakisaka.

Ida has competed in Super GT since 1994, securing five career wins and the driver's title in 2002, and currently participates in the Super GT series in GT300 class with LM corsa, one of the teams under Toyota Motorsport's GAZOO racing arm. He has also participated in Formula 3000 and Formula Nippon. Furthermore, demonstrating his versatility, Iida participated in the 2008 24 Hours Nürburgring race and VLN endurance races, achieving two class wins with a Lexus LF-A.

In recent years, Taiyo Ida has been associated with NILZZ Racing in the Super GT series. While specific details about his recent performance, such as podium finishes, are limited, he continues to be an active participant in the Super GT scene, demonstrating his enduring passion for motorsports.
