In 2012, he finished third in the Shenington and Whilton Mill Kart Club championships. He further honed his skills in the Rotax Euro Challenge in 2013.
Ismail transitioned to single-seater racing in 2015, joining Chris Dittmann Racing for the BRDC F4 Championship. Despite missing the initial races due to age restrictions, he quickly made an impact, securing a pole position and a race win at Snetterton in only his second weekend.
