Julien Gerbi, born on October 3, 1985, is a versatile racing driver with a diverse background. While sources list him as French, Algerian, and Spanish, he resides in Valencia, Spain. Gerbi's journey in motorsports began without traditional karting experience, directly transitioning to race cars in 2003. He quickly made his mark, securing a podium finish in his first car race at Monza in the European Formula X Sport Prototypes series in 2004. That same year, he earned the "Rookie Champion" title.
Gerbi's career has spanned various racing categories, including single-seaters, prototypes, GT, and LMP3 cars, competing across Europe, North America, and the Middle East. In 2006, he achieved success in the Turkish Formula 3 Championship, claiming three wins and setting a track record at Izmir. From 2007 to 2008, he raced in the US Barber Mazda Series, achieving multiple podiums and a win. After a 10-year break, Gerbi returned to racing in endurance events, co-founding Team Virage, a racing team and academy based in Valencia, Spain.
In recent years, Gerbi has focused on endurance racing, achieving significant milestones. In 2023, he won the Michelin Le Mans Cup as a driver alongside Gillian Henrion with Team Virage. He also secured 3rd in the 2023/2024 Asian Le Mans Series. In 2024, competing in the European Le Mans Series - LMP3, Team Virage finished 3rd overall. Gerbi is also involved in driver coaching and has mentored over 80 drivers, some of whom have reached Formula 1 and IndyCar.
