Marcus Ericsson

Marcus Thorbjörn Ericsson, born on September 2, 1990, in Kumla, Sweden, is a highly accomplished racing driver currently competing in the IndyCar Series for Andretti Global. Ericsson's journey in motorsport began at the age of nine, achieving early success in karting before transitioning to single-seater racing. He clinched the British Formula BMW title in 2007, marking a significant milestone in his career. Progressing through British Formula Three, GP2, and GP2 Asia series, he honed his skills and gained valuable experience.

Ericsson entered Formula 1 in 2014, driving for Caterham and later Sauber, accumulating five years in the sport. In 2019, he transitioned to the IndyCar Series, where he found considerable success. A defining moment came in 2022 when he won the Indianapolis 500 with Chip Ganassi Racing, becoming only the second Swedish driver to achieve this feat after Kenny Bräck.
