Roda's career has been marked by success in GT racing, highlighted by winning the 2014 International GT Open in the GTS class, securing the European Le Mans Series title in LMGTE in 2018, and clinching the 2020 Italian GT Endurance Championship. His father, Gianluca Roda, is also a racecar driver and the owner of the steel company Aceros Olarra.
Roda's journey in motorsports began in karts before transitioning to car racing in 2011 with Cram Competition in the Formula Abarth Series. After a challenging debut season, he returned with Prema Powerteam the following year. In 2017, Giorgio Roda returned to the ELMS, driving in the LMGTE category for Spirit of Race, scoring a victory at Spa. A move to Proton Competition followed, with whom Roda would race in both the ELMS and the 2018–19 WEC season. Racing alongside his father Gianluca and pro driver Matteo Cairoli, Roda would be part of a lineup that finished five of the six races on the podium, coming out on top in a title battle against JMW Motorsport.

In 2023, he transitioned to prototype racing, driving for Proton in the ELMS's LMP2 Pro-Am category and secured his maiden pole at Portimão. As of early 2025, Roda has been competing in the Asian Le Mans Series - LMP2 with Proton Competition.
