Michael Guasch

Michael "Mike" Guasch, also known as "Molecule Mike," is an American businessman and racing driver with a strong presence in sports car racing. Born in February 1958, Guasch began his racing career relatively later in life, after a successful career as an inventor and businessman, notably creating the Molecule brand. Prior to transitioning to car racing, he was actively involved in dirt track racing, motocross, and jet ski racing, competing in the IJSBA National Tour until 1991.

Guasch's formal racing journey started in 2005 in the Jim Russell Pro Mazda Series, where he finished in second place. He quickly progressed to the American Le Mans Series (ALMS), achieving significant success, including winning the Prototype Challenge Championship in 2013 with PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports. He also secured a LMPC class victory at Laguna Seca 6 Hours in 2010. Beyond ALMS, Guasch has competed in the British GT Championship with United Autosports, securing a win at Snetterton in 2011. Furthermore, he ventured into the European Le Mans Series, clinching another championship title in the LMP3 category in 2016.

Despite the demands of his business career, Guasch has consistently returned to racing, demonstrating a commitment to physical fitness and maintaining a competitive edge. His racing career is documented in "The Gentleman Driver," a Netflix documentary highlighting businessmen who compete in sportscar racing. Guasch's dedication and focus have earned him respect in the racing community, balancing his passion for motorsport with his entrepreneurial pursuits.
