Drew Russell

Drew Russell, born on May 24, 1988, is an accomplished Australian racing driver with a diverse career spanning several racing categories. The son of former V8 Supercar racer Wayne Russell, Drew began his national racing journey in the Australian Production Car Championship, showcasing his talent early on in a Honda S2000. By 2005, he secured an impressive second place outright and clinched the Class A victory. In 2022, he returned to the Australian Production Car Series, winning the competition alongside his father, Wayne.

Transitioning to V8 Supercars in 2007 with his family-run Novocastrian Motorsport team, Russell competed full-time in the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series for seven years, achieving a personal best of seventh place in 2013. He demonstrated his adaptability by participating in the third-tier Kumho Tyres V8 Touring Car Series in 2014, finishing sixth overall. In 2015, Drew and his brother Aaren secured a wildcard entry into the prestigious Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000, finishing in 17th position.

More recently, Russell has continued to be active in the racing scene, joining Team Newcastle for the 2021 Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour in a VE Holden V8 SSV Commodore. His extensive experience and passion for racing make him a respected figure in Australian motorsport.
