Shaun Thong

Shaun Thong Wei Fung, born on November 1, 1995, is a professional race car driver hailing from Hong Kong S.A.R.. Thong's career began in karting at the age of 14, competing in various Asian championships. He transitioned to single-seaters at 16, quickly making his mark in the Asian Formula Renault Series, finishing third overall in 2012. Since then, Thong has become a prominent figure in GT racing, achieving significant success in Asia and beyond.

Thong's career highlights include winning the 2017 Blancpain GT Series Asia Silver Cup and the 2020 Super Taikyu Series Championship, making him the first and only Chinese driver to win the title. He also secured the GT Asia Pro-Am Championship in 2016 and the F3 Open Winter Series in 2014. In 2020 and 2022, Thong won the Fuji 24 Hours race, becoming the first non-Japanese driver to win the event twice and with different manufacturers. He has participated in prestigious races such as the 24 Hours Nürburgring and the Asian Le Mans Series, achieving multiple podium finishes.

Thong's recent activities include competing in the TCR Asia Challenge, where he secured a pole position at the Macau Grand Prix in 2023.
