Stephen Johansen

Stefan Nils Edwin Johansson, born on September 8, 1956, is a Swedish former racing driver who has left his mark on various motorsport disciplines. Beginning his racing journey in karts, he clinched the Swedish Championship in 1973. He transitioned to Formula Ford, securing national titles in 1977 and 1979, before making his mark in British Formula Three, where he won the championship in 1980 while driving for Ron Dennis' Project Four team.

Johansson's career includes 103 starts in Formula One between 1980 and 1991, driving for teams such as Ferrari and McLaren, achieving 12 podiums and accumulating 88 championship points. While a Formula One victory eluded him, he stood on the podium multiple times, showcasing his skill and consistency. Beyond Formula 1, Johansson found success in sports car racing, winning the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1997 with Joest Racing, as well as the 12 Hours of Sebring.

Since retiring from professional racing, Johansson has remained active in the motorsport world, managing drivers, including IndyCar champion Scott Dixon, and serving as a consultant. He has also pursued his passion for art and design, becoming an accomplished painter and designer, and even consulting on race track design projects.
