Robert Visoiu

Robert Visoiu, born on February 10, 1996, in Pitești, Romania, is a former racing driver. Visoiu's motorsport journey began at the young age of six in karting, where he quickly established himself as a talent by winning multiple Romanian championships in the Mini Class and the KF3 category by 2009. His early success in karting paved the way for a transition to single-seater racing in 2011.

In 2011, Visoiu joined Jenzer Motorsport in the Formula Abarth series. He achieved a race victory in the Italian series at Misano and secured two additional podium finishes, ultimately finishing sixth overall. Simultaneously, he competed in the Formula Abarth European Series, clinching two race victories, including the series finale at Circuit de Catalunya, to finish fourth. Continuing with Jenzer Motorsport, Visoiu entered the GP3 Series in 2012, earning a podium finish in Barcelona and concluding the season in fourteenth place. In 2013, he moved to MW Arden, racing alongside future Formula 1 drivers Daniil Kvyat and Carlos Sainz Jr. That year, he achieved his first GP3 victory in Valencia and another at Hungaroring. Visoiu progressed to the GP2 Series in 2015 with Rapax, achieving a fifth-place finish in Bahrain.

After a hiatus in 2016, Visoiu returned to racing in 2017, joining Campos Racing in the FIA Formula 2 Championship. However, he prematurely ended his racing career before the Jerez round. Despite his relatively short career, Visoiu made history as the first Romanian driver to win a GP3 Series race.
