Rob Kamphues

Rob Kamphues is a Dutch personality known for his diverse career, encompassing comedy, TV presenting, and motor racing. Born Robertus George Kamphues, he has cultivated a passion for motorsports since childhood, dreaming of becoming a Formula 1 driver. While he didn't reach the pinnacle of F1 as a driver, he found his place within the sport as a host and commentator for Dutch television, specifically ZiggoSport, where he covers Formula 1 alongside former drivers Robert Doornbos and Tom Coronel.

Kamphues' racing endeavors are not limited to his broadcasting role. He has actively participated in various racing events, demonstrating his skills on the track. He has driven a BMW M3 GT4 in the European Touring Car Championship, shared a Viper GT1, and competed in single-seaters, achieving second place in the Prototype Challenge in 2016 with the Wolf GB01. He even raced a Lamborghini in the Super Trofeo at Spa, partnering with Allard Kalff. In 2017, he joined Sandor van Es to drive the Renault RS01 at the Jumbo Racedagen, where he experienced both victory and a crash.

Beyond his on-screen and on-track activities, Kamphues is also an author, having penned "Dream on Wheels," a collection of stories about his journey from visiting the Zandvoort circuit to testing a Formula 1 car. His racing career began relatively late, around the age of 40, driving a SEAT Ibiza and later participating in the Leon Eurocup. Despite considering himself an amateur, Kamphues has demonstrated a genuine passion for racing, continuously seeking opportunities to hone his skills and experience the thrill of motorsports. He currently holds a Bronze FIA Driver Categorisation.
