Mark Winterbottom

Mark Winterbottom, nicknamed "Frosty," is a highly accomplished Australian racing driver with a career spanning several decades. Born on May 20, 1981, Winterbottom began his motorsport journey in karting and motorbikes, showcasing his talent early on by winning multiple national and international karting competitions. Transitioning to Formula Ford, he quickly made his mark, finishing as runner-up in both the 2001 and 2002 Australian Formula Ford Championships, foreshadowing his future rivalry with Jamie Whincup.

Winterbottom's career reached new heights in the Supercars Championship. He debuted in 2003 and, driving for Stone Brothers Racing, secured the V8 Supercar development series title in the same year. He joined Ford Performance Racing (FPR) in 2006. His major achievements include winning the prestigious 2013 Bathurst 1000 with co-driver Steven Richards and claiming his first championship title in the 2015 International V8 Supercars Championship, marking Ford's first title in five years.

Throughout his Supercars career, Winterbottom has amassed an impressive record, including multiple wins at the Sandown 500 (2006 and 2015) and the Mike Kable Young Gun Award in 2003. In the Repco Supercars Championship, he drove the No. 18 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Team 18 until he retired from full-time driving at the end of the 2024 season. Winterbottom's legacy extends beyond the track, as he also voiced himself in the Australian version of the Pixar film, Cars 2. In 2025, he is set to race in the endurance for Tickford Racing, driving alongside Cameron Waters.
