Koon Ming Choi

Koon Ming "Michael" Choi, born on June 25, 1968, is a Hong Kong S.A.R. racing driver and businessman. Choi began his racing career relatively late, in 2004, participating in the Asian Formula Renault Series. He demonstrated consistent improvement, culminating in a 5th place finish in the series in 2012. He broadened his racing experience between 2010 and 2014, competing in the GT Asia Series, Clio Cup China Series, Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, and Asian Touring Car Series. In 2014, he also participated in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Final.

Choi achieved a significant milestone in 2015 when he entered the inaugural TCR Asia Series, driving a Honda Civic TCR for Prince Racing. That same year, he was crowned the first champion of the TCR Asia Series after the final rounds in Macau, marking a high point in his racing career. Beyond TCR Asia, Choi has also participated in the Ferrari Challenge Japan, showcasing his versatility across different racing formats. In the Ferrari Challenge, his best season was in 2023 in the Coppa Shell Japan where he achieved 1st place.

Outside of racing, Michael Choi is a successful businessman. He holds the position of Chief Executive Officer and Deputy Chairman of Sunwah International, and also serves as Chief Executive Officer of Sunwah Kingsway Capital, a role he has held since 2010. He joined the Sunwah Group in 1995, demonstrating a long-standing commitment to the company.
