James Townsend is a British racing driver with a diverse motorsport background. Born on February 24, 1986, in Ipswich, UK, he currently resides in both London and New York, USA. Townsend's passion for racing ignited early, inspired by his father's influence. While his motorsport journey started later in life, he has quickly established himself as a competitive force.

Townsend's career has seen him climb the ranks, primarily within the Ginetta racing ladder. He's raced in the Ginetta G40 GT5 Challenge, GT4 Supercup, and the Ginetta GT Cup. His achievements include multiple podium finishes and class wins in various championships. In 2022, he finished third in the Ginetta GT4 Supercup, showcasing his skill and consistency. He also participated in the British GT Championship in 2023, driving a Ginetta G56 GT4. In 2024, Townsend marked his 100th race start in a Ginetta at Donington Park, competing in the GT Cup.
