Cameron Cassels

Cameron Cassels is a seasoned Canadian race car driver with experience across various racing disciplines, ranging from Le Mans Prototypes to GT cars. Born on January 17, 1969, Cassels began his professional racing career relatively late, in 2015, after participating in amateur stock car racing and motocross. Before transitioning to sports cars, he also competed in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo series in both North America and Europe.

Cassels' career gained significant momentum in 2018 when he joined Performance Tech Motorsports, where he honed his skills in Le Mans Prototype cars. That same year, he secured the Masters Championship in the IMSA Prototype Challenge. In 2019, Cassels competed full seasons in both the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the Prototype Challenge. His success in 2019 culminated in winning the WeatherTech Endurance Championship and earning the Jim Trueman Award, which granted him an automatic entry into the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans. Throughout his career, Cassels has achieved multiple wins in IMSA's Michelin Pilot Challenge series in a Porsche GT4, and numerous podiums and wins in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo series.

Beyond his personal achievements, Cassels' passion for motorsports has been passed down to his four children, all of whom are involved in karting, sometimes racing alongside their father. His current competition is the IMSA Sportscar Championship, with a total of 67 starts, 6 wins, and 27 podium finishes, and racing for teams such as Performance Tech Motorsports.
