Racing Driver Andrew Gilbert

Andrew Michael Gilbert-Scott, born on July 11, 1958, is a British former racing driver with a career spanning several decades and various racing disciplines. Gilbert-Scott began his racing journey in Formula Ford in 1981. By 1983, driving for Pegasus Motorsport, he secured the RAC and Townsend Thoresen Championships, and won the Formula Ford Festival at Brands Hatch. He progressed to Formula Three in 1986 and Formula 3000 in 1987, also participating in the World Sportscar Championship and the All Japan Sports Prototype Championship.

In 1988, Gilbert-Scott moved to Japan, competing in the All Japan Formula Three Championship and the All Japan Sports Prototype Championship. 1989 saw successes in the British Formula 3000 series, finishing second overall. He also participated in the International Formula 3000 and raced at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the Silk Cut Jaguar team. He continued in the International Formula 3000 championship before returning to Japan in 1992, competing in the All Japan Formula 3000 Championship and the All Japan Touring Car Championship until 1997. In his final year, he raced at Le Mans again with Gulf Team Davidoff, driving a McLaren F1 GTR. After retiring from professional racing, Gilbert-Scott managed racing driver Takuma Sato and is involved with the Morgan car company.
