About Michael Choi
Michael Choi Koon Ming, born on June 25, 1968, is a Hong Kong S.A.R. racing driver and businessman who currently competes in the TCR Asia Series. Choi began his racing career in 2004 in the Asian Formula Renault Series, achieving 5th place in the 2012 standings. From 2010 to 2014, he participated in the GT Asia Series, Clio Cup China Series, Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, and Asian Touring Car Series. In 2014, he also competed in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Final.
Choi made his debut in the TCR Asia Series in August 2015, driving a Honda Civic TCR for Prince Racing. He achieved a significant milestone on November 30, 2015, when he was crowned the first champion of the TCR Asia Series after the final rounds in Macau. In 2019, he drove a Honda Civic Type R FK8 for Prince Racing in the TCR Malaysia series. Beyond TCR racing, Choi has also participated in the Ferrari Challenge Japan, achieving success with multiple podium finishes and wins.
Outside of racing, Michael Choi is a successful businessman, holding the position of Chief Executive Officer and Deputy Chairman of Sunwah International. He is also the Chief Executive Officer of Sunwah Kingsway Capital, a role he has held since 2010, having joined the Group in 1995.
