Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland to Race New 911 Cup (992.2) in 2026

News & Announcements August 11

The Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland, one of the longest-running one-make series in the world, will introduce the Porsche 911 Cup (992.2) for the 2026 season. This change marks the end of the 911 GT3 Cup era and aligns the German championship with Porsche Motorsport’s global rebranding and technical updates.

Technical Highlights

The new 911 Cup features a 4.0L naturally aspirated flat-six producing 382 kW (520 PS), paired with a 6-speed sequential gearbox and standard Bosch Gen-5 ABS. Aerodynamic changes, including a three-piece front lip and revised underbody, aim to improve stability on the high-speed tracks like the Nürburgring GP circuit.

Competitive Impact

With its mix of established professionals and emerging talents, Carrera Cup Germany expects even closer racing. Enhanced braking consistency and aero balance should make overtakes more feasible at Hockenheim’s hairpins and the fast sweepers of the Sachsenring.
