Elkhart Lake, WI – July 28, 2025 – The 2025 IMSA SportsCar Weekend is set to ignite Road America from July 31 to August 3, with a packed schedule featuring five premier racing series and a host of fan-focused activities. The highlight of the weekend, the Motul SportsCar Grand Prix, will showcase the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in a 2-hour and 40-minute endurance race on Sunday afternoon.

Series on Track

The event will bring together a diverse mix of competition, including:

  • IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship (GTP, LMP2, GTD PRO, GTD)
  • IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge
  • Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America
  • Porsche Carrera Cup North America
  • Mustang Challenge

With over 250 scheduled activities across five days, the weekend promises action from sunrise to sunset, beginning with transporter load-ins on July 30 and culminating in a Sunday of nonstop racing.

Feature Races

  • Mustang Challenge kicks off race action with Race 1 on Saturday at 8:00 AM and returns Sunday for Race 2 at 8:20 AM.
  • Porsche Carrera Cup North America will contest Rounds 9 and 10, with 40-minute races on both Saturday and Sunday mornings.
  • Lamborghini Super Trofeo continues its high-speed drama with two 50-minute races scheduled across the weekend.
  • The IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge headlines Saturday afternoon with the Road America 120, a two-hour endurance race starting at 2:05 PM.
  • The main event, the Motul SportsCar Grand Prix, goes green at 1:10 PM on Sunday, bringing the top-tier WeatherTech Championship cars to the legendary 4.048-mile, 14-turn course.

Technical & Logistical Highlights

Pre-event inspections, technical scrutineering, and team briefings for all series are scheduled from Wednesday onward. Load-in times are tightly managed, with late arrivals potentially reassigned to less favorable paddock positions.

  • A maximum of 55 cars are allowed in the WeatherTech Championship sessions.
  • The event is a Restricted Closed International Event recognized by the FIA and governed under IMSA Rules.
  • Teams must adhere to strict drive-time limits, tire allocations, and fuel rig inspections as specified in the supplementary regulations.
