The driver rating of CGT China GT China Supercar Championship is divided into three levels: AM, AM+, and PRO. The detailed definitions and descriptions of each level are as follows:
-
AM driver: In principle, one of the following conditions must be met. According to the FIA driver rating regulations, the driver is rated as a bronze driver; the driver has not yet been rated or is rated as a silver driver but meets the following conditions: using his own funds to participate in the competition (non-professional or salaried driver), the competition results are in the same lap time range as other gentleman drivers, and the driver is not supported by the car manufacturer. He is a novice driver who is determined by the organizer to be suitable for participating in the AM level competition. The organizer reserves the final right to confirm the driver grouping.
-
AM+ driver: The FIA driver rating is silver, but the organizer believes that he meets the downgrade criteria. The downgrade criteria include driving performance level, age, and spirit of competition, that is, the organizer believes that the driver does not meet the silver driver positioning and is closer to the novice driver positioning; the driver is rated bronze but has accumulated important international competition experience, or the organizer believes that his performance level is significantly higher than the average level of novice (bronze) drivers. The organizers reserve the final right to confirm the driver grouping.
