Roberto Gonzalez

Roberto González Valdés, born March 31, 1976, is a Mexican racing driver hailing from Monterrey. González has built a diverse career spanning various racing series, showcasing his talent on both sides of the Atlantic. He began his Champ Car journey in 2003, making his debut in St. Petersburg, Florida, and later scoring points in his home race in Mexico City. A full-time ride with PKV Racing followed in 2004, although the season didn't yield the results he hoped for.

Undeterred, González ventured into sports car racing, participating in the American Le Mans Series in 2012. His career gained significant momentum in 2019 when he secured victories at the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, both in the LMP2 class. A pinnacle achievement arrived in 2022 as he conquered the 24 Hours of Le Mans in LMP2, sharing the winning Jota Sport car with Will Stevens and António Félix da Costa. This triumphant trio went on to claim the 2022 FIA World Endurance Championship in the LMP2 class, solidifying González's status as a top endurance racer.

Beyond the racetrack, González is an accomplished businessman, serving as the founder of the Mexican investment management company Soliq. He also holds a board position at EPM, a cannabis-based drug development company. His brother, Ricardo González, is also a successful racing driver, having won his class at Le Mans in 2013, making racing a family affair.
