Scott Pruett

Scott Pruett, born on March 24, 1960, is a highly decorated American former racing driver with a career spanning numerous disciplines. Pruett's versatility and skill made him a dominant force in various racing series, earning him a place among the sport's elite.

In the 1980s, he established himself as a top sports car racer, securing two IMSA GTO championships in 1986 and 1988, along with three SCCA Trans-Am titles in 1987, 1994, and 2003. Transitioning to IndyCar in the late 1980s and 1990s, Pruett achieved two victories, including a memorable win at the Michigan 500 in 1995. He also earned the co-Rookie of the Year award at the Indianapolis 500 in 1989. Pruett also participated in NASCAR, making starts in both the Cup Series and the Xfinity Series.

Later in his career, Pruett focused on sports car racing, where he achieved remarkable success in the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series. Driving for Chip Ganassi Racing, he secured five Grand-Am championships in 2004, 2008, 2010, 2011, and 2012. Pruett is also a seven-time winner of the Rolex 24 at Daytona, tying the all-time record. His accomplishments have earned him inductions into the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America and the IMSA Hall of Fame. Beyond his driving achievements, Pruett is also a successful businessman, owning a vineyard with his wife.
