Michele Rugolo

Michele Rugolo, born on August 31, 1982, is an Italian racing driver with a diverse career spanning various racing disciplines. Rugolo's journey in motorsports began in karting, where he competed from 1992 to 1999. He then transitioned to single-seaters, participating in Formula Renault 2000 Italy from 2000 to 2002 and later in Formula Nissan.

Rugolo's career significantly shifted towards sports car racing, marking appearances in prestigious events such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans. He finished 11th overall in 2003. He also competed in the American Le Mans Series in 2005, driving a Dodge Viper GTS-R. In 2007, he entered the GT2 class of the FIA GT Championship, followed by the International GT Open championship. A highlight of his sports car career includes joining Krohn Racing in 2011 for the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup, securing GTE-Am class wins at the Twelve Hours of Sebring and Petit Le Mans. More recently, Rugolo has competed in series such as the Michelin Le Mans Cup and the Asian Le Mans Series, where he was the GT Champion in 2017.

Beyond sports cars, Rugolo was also associated with A1 Team Italy during the 2006-07 season. His experience extends to the Blancpain series and the CIGT Sprint GT Series. Throughout his career, Michele Rugolo has demonstrated versatility and adaptability across different racing formats, maintaining a presence in both international and Italian racing scenes.
