Joerg Bergmeister

Jörg Bergmeister, born on February 13, 1976, in Leverkusen, Germany, is a highly accomplished former racing driver and current Porsche brand ambassador. Standing tall at 6'4" (1.94 meters), Bergmeister has etched his name in motorsport history, particularly in the realm of sports car racing. His career is deeply intertwined with Porsche, achieving remarkable success in various Porsche racing series and as a works driver for the brand. Bergmeister's early exposure to motorsport came naturally, as his father, Willi Bergmeister, was a touring car racer and owned a workshop where Michael Schumacher apprenticed.

Bergmeister's professional racing career began in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany in 1996, where he steadily progressed before clinching the championship title in 2000. The following year, he dominated the Porsche Supercup, earning him a coveted position as a Porsche factory driver. Bergmeister's prowess extended beyond European circuits, venturing into the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) in 2002 and achieving significant success in North America. His achievements include an overall win at the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2003, a GT class win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2004, and multiple ALMS GT class championships.

Notably, Jörg Bergmeister also won all important long distance races in Motorsports like Le Mans, Daytona, Sebring, at the Nürburgring, Petit Le Mans and at Spa. In 2019, Bergmeister concluded his career as a Porsche factory driver after winning the GTE-Am class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Team Project 1. He remains with Porsche as a brand ambassador and test development driver, utilizing his extensive GT racing experience to contribute to the development of the 911 model line.
