Scott McLaughlin, born on June 10, 1993, is a highly accomplished racing driver hailing from Christchurch, New Zealand. Currently, he competes in the IndyCar Series, driving the No. 3 Dallara-Chevrolet for Team Penske. Before making his mark in IndyCar, McLaughlin dominated the Supercars Championship, securing drivers' titles in 2018, 2019, and 2020.
McLaughlin's journey in motorsport began at a young age, transitioning from karting to the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series in 2010. His career quickly gained momentum, marked by his debut in the Supercars Championship at the 2012 Sandown 500. A full-time drive with Garry Rogers Motorsport followed, leading to his first Supercars race victory in 2013, making him the youngest driver to achieve this milestone. He continued to build on this success, showcasing his talent with multiple pole positions and race wins.
In 2017, McLaughlin joined DJR Team Penske, where he truly cemented his status as a racing superstar. Over the next four seasons, he claimed three Supercars championships, including a memorable Bathurst 1000 victory in 2019. His transition to the IndyCar Series with Team Penske in 2021 marked a new chapter in his career, earning him the Rookie of the Year title. By 2024, McLaughlin had become a formidable force in IndyCar, securing multiple wins and pole positions, solidifying his position as a championship contender. Off the track, he is married to Karly and has a daughter, Lucy, born in October 2024. His hobbies include football, iRacing, and golf.
