Kenta Yamashita

Kenta Yamashita, born on August 3, 1995, is a highly accomplished Japanese racing driver currently competing in Super GT for ROOKIE Racing and in Super Formula for Kondō Racing under the Toyota Gazoo Racing banner. Yamashita's career is marked by significant achievements, including winning the GT500-class Super GT championship in 2019 alongside Kazuya Oshima. He also secured the 2016 All-Japan Formula 3 Championship and the 2013 Formula Challenge Japan titles, showcasing his versatility and skill across different racing categories.

Yamashita's journey in motorsports began with karting before transitioning to Formula Super FJ and Formula Challenge Japan, where he quickly made his mark by winning the 2012 Motegi Championship Formula Super FJ in his debut season. In 2013, he dominated the Formula Challenge Japan series, clinching the championship title with four wins and multiple podium finishes. Progressing to the All-Japan Formula Three Championship in 2014, he consistently challenged for the title, finishing as runner-up in both 2014 and 2015 before finally claiming the championship in 2016.

Beyond his domestic success, Yamashita has also ventured into international racing, participating in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) in 2019-20. He competed in the LMP2 class, demonstrating his adaptability to different racing environments. In 2024, he moved to Team au TOM'S, partnering with Sho Tsuboi, further solidifying his position as a top-tier driver in Super GT.
