Rory Van der steur

Rory Van der Steur is an American racing driver who currently competes in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship - GTD for Van der Steur Racing. Born on February 23, 2000, Van der Steur's racing journey began at the young age of four with go-karts, a common starting point for many aspiring racers. He honed his skills in go-kart racing for 13 years before transitioning to car racing.

Van der Steur's career includes participation in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge series, where he drove a Hyundai Veloster N TCR. These races, ranging from two to four hours, require strategic pit stops and tire changes. Beyond driving, he is also a mechanical engineering student, demonstrating a deep understanding of the engineering aspects of racing. This knowledge allows him to provide valuable feedback to his team regarding car modifications and performance.

In recent IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship - GTD races, Van der Steur finished 6th at Daytona in January 2025 and had a DNF at Sebring in March 2025. He has also achieved podium finishes in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, including a 3rd place at Road Atlanta in October 2024 and Road America in August 2024.
