Robin Shute is a British racing driver and automotive engineer who has gained significant recognition for his achievements at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Residing in Long Beach, California, Shute has claimed the prestigious "King of the Mountain" title three times in his Pikes Peak career.
Shute's journey into motorsports began early, influenced by his father's racing background in the UK. He honed his skills through RC competitions and later ventured into go-karts. After graduating as an automotive engineer, he joined a Formula Student team, marking a turning point in his racing career. He moved to the US and worked in chassis design for Tesla and Faraday Future. Shute first participated in Pikes Peak with Faraday Future and later with his own team, The Sendy Club. Driving a Wolf TSC, he achieved his fastest time of 09:12.476 in 2019. He secured consecutive "King of the Mountain" titles in 2021 and 2022.
In 2022, Shute received the Segrave Trophy by the Royal Automobile Club, an honor given to British nationals demonstrating outstanding skill, courage, and initiative. In 2023, Shute was chosen by Venture Engineering to drive their Aston Martin AMR GT3 in the Time Attack 1 division.
