Nicola De Val

Nicola De Val, born on May 24, 1989, is an Italian racing driver with a unique path into motorsport. Unlike many of his peers, De Val didn't begin with extensive karting experience. Instead, his interest in racing developed from a scientific perspective, stemming from his studies in Mechanical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, where he earned a Master of Science degree.

De Val's racing career gained momentum in 2011 when he participated in the Italian Formula Renault 2.0 Challenge, achieving unexpected success despite his limited background. This led him to compete in the more challenging Formula Renault Alps series. In 2013, he shifted to prototype racing, joining Wolf Racing Cars in a Wolf GB08 to compete in the Portuguese prototype championship after a year of endurance racing across Benelux. His racing resume includes participation in events like the Dunlop Supercar Challenge, 24 Hours of Zolder, Gulf 12 Hours of Abu Dhabi, and the 3H Endurance Champions Cup.

Beyond driving, Nicola has also worked as a Race Engineer for Honda WTCC and Subjective Test Driver & Head of Track Engineering for Honda TCR. Currently, he continues to combine his racing passion with his engineering expertise.
