Matthew Rees is a rising star in the world of British motorsport. Born on July 27, 2005, the Welsh racer from Cardiff has quickly made a name for himself in various racing categories.
Rees's journey began at the Llandow Kart Track, where he first experienced the thrill of speed. His talent soon became evident, leading to remarkable achievements in his early career. In 2021, he secured the British F4 Championship title, becoming the only Welsh driver to achieve this feat. He also earned the Rookie title that same year. Continuing his ascent, Rees showcased his skills in the GB3 Championship (formerly British F3) in 2022 and 2023, achieving multiple race wins. In 2022, he secured a win at Brands Hatch and finished 6th overall in the standings.
Currently, Rees is competing in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB, marking a significant milestone in his career. He is also the youngest driver to be selected for the British Racing Drivers' Club (BRDC) Superstar program. In 2024, as a rookie, he achieved pole position, a first in the 22-year history of the championship.
