Mateo Llarena

Mateo Llarena, born on February 26, 2004, is an Italian-Guatemalan racing driver making waves in the GT racing scene. Llarena's journey began in karting at the age of four, where he quickly demonstrated his talent, securing four National Championships and a FIA Americas Award. His early success propelled him into international competition, participating in events like the Rotax MAX Challenge Argentina and the Easykart World Finals in Italy.

Llarena's transition to motorsports at 14 saw him debuting in the Toyota Yaris Cup in Guatemala. In 2019, he became the youngest-ever winner of the National Motorsport Championship in Guatemala and Central America at just 15, earning his second FIA Americas Award. He gained further experience in Formula 4, even participating as an opening act for the FIA Formula 1 Mexican Grand Prix.

Focusing on GT racing, Llarena competed in the Porsche Supercup and later made his IMSA SportsCar Championship debut in 2021. That year he also became a Lamborghini GT3 Junior driver, racing in the Italian GT Championship. In 2024, Llarena will compete under an Italian racing license and embark on his maiden Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe series with Grasser Racing Team.
