Lance Willsey

Lance Willsey, born on May 15, 1961, is an American racing driver with a diverse background both on and off the track. Beyond his racing career, Willsey is also a physician who transitioned from clinical practice to focus on drug development and oncology. He has been involved with companies like DCF Capital and Exelixis.

Willsey's racing journey started early, with flat track motorcycle racing in his youth. He progressed to sports cars, eventually competing in series like the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge, and Ferrari Challenge. Willsey has driven for teams such as Sean Creech Motorsport, and has experience in LMP3 and LMP2 prototypes. His racing endeavors include participation in prestigious events like the Rolex 24 at Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring.

In September 2024, it was announced that Willsey would be suspending his racing career. Sean Creech Motorsport is actively seeking alternate sponsors and drivers for the 2025 season, while expressing their best wishes to Willsey. Throughout his racing career, Willsey has achieved multiple podium finishes and has demonstrated a commitment to continuous improvement, even using racing as a tool to enhance his skills and understanding of vehicle dynamics.
